Act 1 Scene 1 on the Hollywood walk of fame

By Hans Montelius on May 13, 2012

On June 3rd, our film Act 1 Scene 1 will open in LA. It’s Dances with films that will screen the film at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre next to the Hollywood walk of Fame. Dances with Films is a festival for independent filmmakers that don’t have any support from major studios. It’s a great festival. It was at Dances with Films that The Man with all the Marbles premiered. It then went on to 45 festivals around the world including a screening on Times Square in New York and before the Swedish Oscar submission 2010.

Dances with Films is also a great place to meet up and coming filmmakers and Hollywood producers and distributors. I attended the festival for the premiere of The Man with all the Marbles and I again attend the festival and do a Q&A for Act 1 Scene 1.

Always a bridesmaid, never a bride

By Hans Montelius on April 6, 2012

We love making films. We love it so much that we’ve made 10 shorts during the past three years, not to mention all the commercials, music videos and web videos. And that should be reward enough. But of course we’re also very happy when people enjoy our films. And they have now been the official selection at 173 film festivals and we were just honored with our 40th award. Still, there are some awards and film festivals that we haven’t gotten yet. We’ve screened at four Oscar qualifying film festivals, but haven’t gotten all the way. But, it’s nice just to be nominated. And we’ll keep on making films. Not for the awards, but for the sheer fun of it.

We are building a network of filmmakers

By Hans Montelius on December 20, 2011

With the acquisition of our film studio in the central Stockholm, we are now setting our sights higher than ever before. The studio is 330 square meters and has been a successful photo studio for about a year run by Jini Sofia Lee, a well known photographer from Korea and Shanghai who now has set up camp in Stockholm.

Now we’re expanding the studio to include film and sound. We have a talented composer who is joining us. And we have already notived that the benefits of working in this kind of network is amazing.

Therefore, we are on the hunt for more talented and creative people to join our network. People we can give work with in an open non pretentious environment.

If you would like more information or know someone who might fit our network, contact us at info@cinemantrix.com.
