With the acquisition of our film studio in the central Stockholm, we are now setting our sights higher than ever before. The studio is 330 square meters and has been a successful photo studio for about a year run by Jini Sofia Lee, a well known photographer from Korea and Shanghai who now has set up camp in Stockholm.
Now we’re expanding the studio to include film and sound. We have a talented composer who is joining us. And we have already notived that the benefits of working in this kind of network is amazing.
Therefore, we are on the hunt for more talented and creative people to join our network. People we can give work with in an open non pretentious environment.
If you would like more information or know someone who might fit our network, contact us at info@cinemantrix.com.
For the third year in a row, Cinemantrix is honored by the Swedish Film Institute. There will be a cocktail reception at SFI and Hans Montelius and Alexandra Chalupa will be honored for the awards that they have received internationally for their films during 2011.
Cinemantrix has received 39 awards for its films, screenplays and commercials. Alexandra has received seven awards for her performance in the film An Affair with Dolls. Other of Cinemantrix films that have received many awards is The Man with all the Marbles.
These awards play a big role in the success that Cinemantrix has had during the past two years.
Exciting news! We have just acquired a big film and photo studio in central Stockholm. The studio is 330 square meter and consists of two large studios. We will celebrate this with a grand opening on February 13.
We regularly travel around the world to gage the response to our films in different countries and on different continents. We’ve been to Prince Edward Island in Canada, we’ve been given the vip treatment with limosine and chauffeur in England, we’ve seen our film screen at the Writers Guild Theater in Hollywood before the Swedish oscar submission, and we’ve been in Cannes four years in a row now.
This time we’re going to Thailand to the World Film Festival of Bangkok. They will be screening our animation Sidewalk Wars and they’ve invited us to participate and to hold a Q&A after the film.
The festival takes place from the 4th to the 13th of November.
Stay tuned in the next couple of weeks for updates, pictures and observations.
Our films have screened at over 150 film festivals during the last couple of years, and we’ve experienced all kinds – small festivals, big festivals, festivals that pay for everything and treat us like kings, and festivals that don’t even tell us that they are screening our films. But one of our favorites is the Milwaukee Short Film Festival.
